Olbrich Gardens

Not only do we get to run around Vilas Zoo all year long, but we're also lucky to have the beautiful Olbrich Gardens nearby too! On our last visit we spent most of our time at their Thai Garden and Pavilion. The pavilion was given to the University of Wisconsin-of Madison by the Thai government (there is a huge number of Thai students at the UW), and it's just beautiful.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Another perk to "Lucas Trip 2008" was a quick visit with Mom, Dad and Doug to celebrate Dad C.'s birthday. They picked me up at Em's, and we spent some time at the Va. Aviation Museum before heading to the airport. Happy Birthday Dad!

It was great to see them...it's really nice to have Doug back home and we're looking forward to having him so close in Chicago.

Lucas Trip 2008

One of the greatest things that's happened lately was heading out to Richmond, VA for the weekend to visit Emily and her family! Little Lucas is adorable, as you can tell. He's a mover too...always kicking his legs around and holding his head up to look around. And what a smile!

Needless to say, it was a great great time. Very laid back, and the first time Em and I were able to just hang out as friends for a while...between the weddings, move, and the baby our lives were busy this past year. She and Greg have a beautiful family and we are so lucky to have them as friends.

We have a good excuse!

Hello, hello...and so sorry we've been MIA. For those of you who haven't heard, Matt and I are in the middle of trying to buy our first home. It kind of came out of no where and we're trying to work fast so we are moved before the snow starts. It's keeping us busy, but I hope this is the beginning of regular posts again.

I'll be back posting some stuff soon, but here's an olive branch in the meantime. Follow this link to a gallery of pictures taken by a friend of a fellow derby girl. These were taken at practice, and the falling is on purpose. Woo hoo!

Happy Belated Birthday to Hudson Huth Honeycutt, born to Carter and Cortney on July 20!
