The Packers!

Hand-dyed, handmade His & Hers Packers socks...thanks Mom C!

I know this isn't happening in Madison, but it's worth mentioning that the Packers Training Camp started today!! And we won't talk about this or this , but rather, we'll look forward to another season with our favorite boys. Go Pack!!! Love you guys!

Vilas Zoo

For as much as we talk about how great this zoo is, we hadn't yet been this summer, and the crowds quickly reminded us why. We're more like autumn zoo people. It's always fun, though...hope you enjoy the pictures:

Atwood Summerfest

Hello, hello! This past Saturday was the Atwood neighborhood's annual street fair, Summerfest. It is put on by the Goodman-Atwood Community Center, where I recently began volunteering. The pictures aren't too exciting because I was working, but it was a nice day to meet more of our neighbors.

Gail's chocolate shop is also on the Atwood Avenue, so here are some pictures with some of my co-workers below (Karina, Jenni, and Meghan).

In other Goodman-Atwood/work news: I've recently implemented a charitable program at work to benefit the Community Center. We've started selling dark chocolate hearts and 100% of the profits go to the Goodman-Atwood Community Center. Follow the link and they are about half way down the page--woo hoo!

The Skates

These are going to make me so fast....

They are very introductory, but so much better than the rental skates I've been using. I had them sent to work so I wouldn't have to wait to try them out. Gail was cool enough to let me go around the kitchen a few times. (The picture above is our kitchen) I.....love.....these......skates. Love them.

And another reason why today was so great: I bought my plane tickets to see Emily, Greg and little baby Doran next month! I can't wait! EEEE!

Concerts on the Square, Part II

The three of us went to an overcast Concerts on the Square this past Wednesday. Instead of setting up a blanket this time, we walked around the square and listened to the music. This week they featured a bassist, which was the perfect sound for the darker day. The real star of the show, though, was this butterfly that kept flying back to Matt...

More pictures...

Company: Lindy!

Sorry we haven't been posting as much. Lindy (Matt's mom) was is town for a little over a week and we were enjoying some quality time with her. I'll catch you up on the goings-ons in Madison in the next few posts...

The Patio Oasis, but imagine nicer chairs

A lot of progress has been made, so I thought I'd share some updates. Here she is--Zinnias! Violets! And soon, you'll be dazzled by tomatoes and bell pepper in every color.

As plain as it looks, there is nothing in the world better making a drink and relaxing out here after a long day. There is always something new to look at...

Happy Fourth of July!

Hope you had a happy and safe 4th. Here's our day, in red, white and blue:

It was beautiful in Madison, so we started with a nice long bike ride. Here are some seagulls on Lake Monona.

Our friends Ryan and Day had a few people over for an afternoon cookout. They are always great hosts, and doubly fortunate for us today, they also have a very patriotic-looking home.

Then just the four of us were off to the city of Monona for some carnival fun and fireworks...

A very Happy 4th everyone, enjoy the weekend!

Mad Rollin' Dolls

Yes yes yes yes yes! In case you haven't heard, I made the Madison's Roller Derby League! There is a draft in the fall for the four local teams, and a whole summer of practice between now and then. The first one was yesterday *ouch* Definitely more to come!

P.S., MRD has a Travel Team, the Dairyland Dolls. They have upcoming matches in Norfolk, VA (August 23) and Raleigh, NC (December 6). Bring cowbells and go cheer the girls on!
